Sports Broadcasting/Game Day Media Interns

Hoops. Heart. Hartford.

The Hartford Colts are a professional basketball organization competing in the American Basketball Association (ABA), with a growing focus on high-quality digital content, livestream broadcasting, social media production, and in-game entertainment. We believe this presents a valuable opportunity for students who are interested in sports broadcasting, media production, communications, and live event coverage to gain real-world experience in a professional sports environment.

Internship opportunities may include:

  • Play-by-play broadcasting
  • Color commentary
  • Camera operation
  • Live stream production
  • Video editing
  • Social media content creation
  • Sideline reporting/interviews
  • Graphic design and promotional media
  • Game day media operations

Students will have the opportunity to build portfolios, gain networking experience, and work directly alongside our media and operations staff during games, practices, community events, and team productions.

The season runs from September through April so there is opportunity for Fall and/or Spring internships.

Interns will work approximately 3/4 times weekly. Generally it’s 2 practices during the week (in New Britain) and 1 game on the weekend (in Glastonbury).  Some weekends will have back to back games. During away games, there is usually a live stream option, which opens up opportunities to work away games without having to be present.
