Our company is looking for dynamic and responsible Public Relations Interns for our Summer and Fall program to focus on our clients in the financial services space.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Agency PR work. Our PR intern program aims to teach future PR professionals the strategies behind communications campaigns, how to establish and maintain relationships with media contacts, how to juggle working on multiple clients at once, and so much more.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build media relations skills by establishing media contacts and developing pitches for target media
  • Create key press materials including press releases, briefing documents and coverage reports
  • Research client and competitor products and services
  • Assist in the coordination of events such as press conferences, media briefings, media tours and trade shows
  • Interface with potential client contacts, vendors and internal teams
  • Work closely with KCSA leaders across all sectors
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members
  • Learn through a rich curriculum of professional development and training opportunities
  • Contribute your unique ideas and personality to the KCSA culture

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have excellent multitasking skills, pay close attention to detail while completing tasks in a timely manner, be proficient in excel, and above all, have a strong desire for a career in the Public Relations industry.

EXPERIENCE: Prior PR agency experience in a similar internship is a plus but not essential.

Seasonal News Intern – The Harpswell Anchor (Harpswell, Maine)

The Harpswell Anchor is seeking a news intern for the 2026 summer break. This 12-week internship, with pay and housing, offers an opportunity to gain real-world experience and mentorship from a team of veteran journalists.

Junior standing in a postsecondary journalism program and experience from a past internship and/or student journalism is preferred for this competitive internship. Students of multimedia journalism and photojournalism are encouraged to apply.

The intern will assist with the Anchor’s news coverage. They will report on community events, write features and contribute to coverage of local government. They may work on social media and special projects, staff Anchor events and complete miscellaneous tasks as needed.

The Harpswell Anchor is a nonprofit community news organization with an award-winning website and monthly print edition. The news team includes two full-time journalists and numerous freelancers and volunteers.

The intern will receive free housing, Maine’s minimum wage of $15.10 per hour for up to 40 hours per week, and mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate of 72.5 cents per mile. The successful applicant must have a driver’s license and reliable vehicle, and must be available nights and weekends. Start and end dates negotiable.
