Eligibility: 

  • Applicants must be current full-time students within two years of earning an undergraduate degree (i.e. juniors and seniors), current full-time graduate students or recent graduates (fall semester 2025 and thereafter). 
  • You must have authorization to work in the country where the position is located for six months in 2026. 
  • You should have advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English. Professional competency in additional languages is a plus.

The Associated Press seeks a talented and ambitious student or recent graduate to serve as its 2026 Race and Ethnicity news intern. This internship lasts 24 weeks, beginning August 3, 2026. 

As an intern on the Race and Ethnicity team, you’ll join a diverse group of journalists based in locations across the country to tell stories in various formats about culture, complex histories and ongoing struggles with issues of race and ethnicity in the U.S. You’ll be expected to help with breaking news coverage, pitch coverage and come ahead with ideas to amplify the team’s work for digital audiences. The Race and Ethnicity intern will be based in New York City and the staff position is covered by AP’s agreement with the News Media Guild. 

The internship is a full-time, paid working experience in which the participant joins newsgathering and production colleagues in conceiving and executing our daily all-formats news report. We are seeking a strong storyteller who demonstrates solid news judgment and is eager to put what they have learned in an academic environment into professional practice. Individuals with diverse experiences and perspectives are encouraged to apply. 

Qualifications: Strong interpersonal, organizational and planning skills are a must, as is a deep interest in the news and current affairs. You should be creative, innovative, collaborative and agile. Skills in more than one format (text, photo, video, audio, social media and data) are a plus. 

We are seeking an intern candidate who has demonstrated the potential to work effectively in a deadline-driven, dynamic and competitive newsroom and field environment. An AP intern should have experience working in college media, as a freelancer or as an intern for another news organization. Work Arrangement: 3 days per week/ 5 hours per day. Overview: Join WTIC NewsTalk 1080, Connecticut’s Local Radio Station , for an exciting internship opportunity! This program is designed for students passionate about media, news and broadcasting who want hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of talk radio.

As a Summer Intern, you’ll work directly with our morning show, Brian & Company. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with high-caliber talent, contribute to innovative broadcast and digital content, and gain exposure to audio, video, social media, and live event production. We’re looking for creative thinkers with a passion for news talk media, a collaborative attitude, and a desire to learn how content can drive engagement and revenue. Strong interest in the news industry and knowledge of FCC guidelines are a plus.

Responsibilities What You’ll Do: What You’ll Do Includes But Is Not Limited To: Assist in the planning and organizational management tasks around programming, content and creative for our morning show, Brian & Company. Tasks include:

  • Assist with social media executing; including producing original content for social media
  • Work with the producer to research/write sports reports
  • Greet in studio guests upon arrival
  • Contribute/Research story/guest ideas
  • Attend weekly editorial meeting; Tuesdays 9:30am.
  • Contribute occasionally on the air.
  • There will be some introduction to running a radio board.

Frontline Editorial Internship – Summer 2026 (Remote; Part-time)
