What You Will Do

  • Ideate/brainstorm with Creative Studio’s Visual Storytelling team to produce custom content solutions for our streaming platforms
  • Work with Visual Storytelling leadership to understand the strategy behind how our art travels across platforms
  • Design and execute custom graphics and key art for streaming
  • Research new trends and applications of streaming to enhance ESPN’s artwork strategy

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Fundamental creative skills in typography, composition, and graphic design
  • Sound knowledge of the sports landscape and appreciation for and understanding of Internet pop culture
  • Demonstrated communication and organization skills
  • Enthusiasm for growing streaming presence with innovation and customization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency using photo editing software (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Figma knowledge is a bonus.
  • Examples of creative design work produced (professional or personal). This can be a full portfolio, website or individual samples.

Education

  • Majoring in graphic design, multimedia/visual arts, communications or closely related field.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Podcast copywrite/content and coordination
  • Blog copywrite and editing
  • Social media content (Facebook, LinkedIn)
  • Course content and PowerPoint development

The work will be remote with the opportunity to collaborate on business meetings and design sessions with our leadership and collaborative teams.  In person meetings are available upon request.   Hours can be flexible outside of standing meetings.  

This internship is unpaid but will include recommendation letters and other assistance for employment based on the intern’s needs.

Marketers work closely with sales to learn what’s happening in the market and, to help them promote and share their enthusiasm about books and writers.Some responsibilities may include:

  • Researching new media contacts, influencer, and brand partnerships for title marketing campaigns
  • Collaborating with the team to create content for author and imprint social media platforms
  • Assisting in select marketing book mailings (remotely)
  • Attending team meetings to help brainstorm promotional opportunities for titles

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DETAILS Penguin Random House offers a 10-week PAID, REMOTE internship opportunity available in our adult, children’s, and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, and employee speaker series!Summer interns work for 28 hours per week and are paid $20/hour.What you study does not matter! We are looking for your desire to work with books, your drive to learn and your curiosity for the publishing industry.
