Position Overview

BLS is seeking energetic, friendly and serious Videographer and Editor intern. If you’re interested in an exciting career in photography, enjoy creating a story board for photos, and is creative apply now ! This credit based (Spring internship and 160 hrs ),non paid three month internship program with the opportunity working full/part time. This program is for current college students and recent grads and must be approved by your school.

Below Is a List Of Duties

  • Light, record audio and film on-screen talent and product b-roll.
  • Edit footage filmed to create a clear and cohesive video that is engaging, informative and clear.
  • creating detail story boards for videos and recording them .
  • Assist on larger productions setting up lights, moving equipment or possibly acting as a background actor!
  • creating catchy creative videos for a clothing line. Using strong detail story boards

Education

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited undergraduate institution

Skills: 2-3 years of experience working in the field (classroom) and in the studio with audio/video recordings

  • Technical proficiency in FCPX, Photoshop, Illustrator and audio software; After Effects a plus
  • Basic understanding of post-production, color correction/balancing
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to be a one person team, or become a team member assisting on other projects.
  • Ability to use sound recording equipment (shotgun mics, lavalier mics).
  • Attention to detail is a must (check proper white balance, notice a smudge on the product being filmed, notice unintended reflections, etc.)
  • Able to accommodate unanticipated spikes in workload

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Strong interest in the media industry. 
  • Commitment to building an inclusive work environment. 
  • Previous internship experience and on-campus involvement. 
  • Strong interest in and demonstrated knowledge of current affairs. 
  • Desired majors: Journalism or Broadcast Journalism, Digital/New Media Studies, Communications, Political Science, Production, Social Media, English, Business, Meteorology.
