Talcott’s Summer Internship Program: Communication Intern

Talcott’s Summer Internship Program is designed to provide students with a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to deeply immerse themselves in real-life business challenges! As part of this ten-week fast-paced summer program, students work side by side with our industry. Our internship opportunity shall be a weekly hybrid onsite work arrangement in our contemporary Hartford, Connecticut campus on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Throughout this experience, students will dive into business assignments that shall expand their technical expertise, business knowledge and leadership skills. In addition to hands-on learning, Talcott’s internship program offers an extensive calendar of enrichment activities to support a student’s personal growth! We sponsor frequent social events where our interns can directly interact with members of our leadership team among many other disciplines.

The Communications Summer Intern will work closely with various members of the communications team. Additionally, they will partner with employees across the enterprise to deliver best-in-class communications that keep stakeholders engaged and informed.

Responsibilities

  • Support internal and external corporate communication messaging
  • Create written and digital marketing materials to support employee engagement
  • Leverage social media for branding with Talcott events
  • Maintain and/or update our SharePoint employee intranet site
  • Draft and proofread employee communications
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as required

Qualifications:

  • Our preferred candidate is an undergraduate or graduate student majoring in journalism, communications, public relations, marketing, or a similar field
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately proofread and edit corporate documents with strong attention to grammar
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Additional experience with MS SharePoint or photo editing is a plus!
  • Strong knowledge of LinkedIn and other social media platforms
  • Basic understanding of data analytics, click through rates, visits, etc.
  • Strong ability to process instructions and move quickly to executing on tasks
  • Effectively asks questions to gain clarity on assigned tasks

ESPN Digital Video Social Content Intern, Remote, Spring 2026

The ESPN YouTube Team oversees the daily creation and curation of video content for ESPN-branded social channels. They produce videos, write headlines and evaluate stories and videos for accuracy, fairness and social/viral potential. The approximate dates of this program are January through May 2026.

What You Will Do

Interns will assist in tracking performance metrics and video analytics on ESPN platforms, enhancing the distribution model on all channels. You must have a commanding knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, be organized, and be able to recognize unique and compelling content that will thrive in mobile/social environments. As an intern, you will develop an awareness of the operations of multiple ESPN units in order to collaborate successfully in identifying and/or developing up-to-the-minute video content optimized for multiple platforms and user needs. Responsibilities include:

  • Participating with teams internally and externally in the creation and distribution of content that best activates new audiences
  • Navigating Digital Social Platforms and applying that expertise to expand reach, engagement, and distribution of content
  • Analyzing usage and performance metrics that can lead to content enhancements and improvements
  • Maintaining proficiency and knowledge in latest trends and best practices for video distribution on YouTube channels and ESPN Platforms
  • Producing, creating and editing videos. This will include headline writing, tagging, managing an overall style and voice and working with subject matter experts for specific content types

2026 Intern – Corporate Communications and Community Engagement

Nassau Financial Group is based in Hartford. Nassau’s 10-week summer internship program prepared college students for careers on the cutting edge of insurance and asset management. This is an opportunity to learn about a specific field or functional area while gaining valuable hands-on work experience.

Corporate Communications and Community Engagement are part of the Chief of Staff department. This is a highly visible position that interacts with employees across the company, requiring good judgment, confidentiality, integrity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. This opening is for Summer 2026 (June 1-August 7)

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Daily writing and designing content for company intranet and onsite TV monitors
  • Supporting company Community Engagement program, including volunteer recruiting, event planning and logistics
  • Supporting event planning and logistics for large employee social events
  • Creating content for company social media accounts, working with the company’s Marketing team
  • Assisting team members within the department, including PowerPoint presentations, research, database and library creation, administrative tasks and various aspects of office management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Role requires 4 days/week in the office
